Dr. Shama Sowdagar, final year DNB Pediatric Postgraduate, won the 2nd prize in competitive case presentation (presentation on Pyrexia of Unknown Origin) in the World Arthritis Day Program, held on 16th October 2017 at Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai.
Dr. Kiran Kumar and Dr. Abhinav, Final year DNB postgraduates, won the 3rd prize in Rheumatology quiz organized at Sri Ramachandra University as part of the World Arthritis day program, held on 16th October 2017.

Abhinav, Final year Post Diploma DNB Postgraduate, won the Best Oral Paper presentation titled ‘Clinical, Epidemiological, Etiological, Microbiological profile and Acute outcome of Neonatal Candidal Infections’ at the National Conference of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (NCPID) 2017, held from 6th – 8th October 2017 at Mysore, Karnataka.

Rajkumar, Fellow in Pediatric Infectious Diseases won the 2nd prize for oral presentation titled ‘Risk Factors, Treatment & Outcome of Carbapenem Resistant Enterobacteriaceae infections in Neonates at the National Conference of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (NCPID) 2017, held from 6th – 8th October 2017 at Mysore, Karnataka.
Dr. K. Prabhu, final year DNB Pediatric Surgery Postgraduate, won the 1st prize for his paper presentation titled ‘Comprehensive Preoperative Airway assessment in Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula’, at the Annual National Conference of the IAPSCON 2017, held from 20th – 24th September 2017 at Kolkata.
Dr. M. Saravana Balaji, 4th year DNB Pediatric Surgery Postgraduate, won the 1st prize for his poster presentation titled ‘Audit of a protocol followed for intussusception in older children’, at the Annual National Conference of the IAPSCON 2017, held from 20th – 24th September 2017 at Kolkata.

CONSULTANTSProf. K. Mathangi Ramakrishnan, Chairperson of the CHILDS Trust Medical Research Foundation, was awarded the “Humanitarian Award” by the International Cleft Lip & Palate Foundation at the 10th World Cleft Lip, Palate and Craniofacial Congress, held at Chennai from 24-28th October 2016, for her work on Children with Cleft Lip and Palate disorders.
Dr. Shilpa Radhakrishnan and Dr. S. Srinivas presented their study entitled ‘Role of MR Enterography in Pediatric Crohn’s disease – Evaluation of Disease activity and treatment response, Correlation between MRE and Pediatric Crohn’s Disease Activity Index scores at the 14th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Pediatric Radiology, held on 10th & 11th September 2016 at Kolkata. This was presented by Dr. Shilpa and was selected as the ‘Best Paper’ in the oral presentation category.
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) felicitated Dr. K. Mathangi Ramakrishnan, Chairperson, CHILDS Trust Medical Research Foundation for her contribution and services for burns patients. She delivered the JIPMER SUSRATHA Oration in Plastic Surgery on 8-3-16.
Dr. R. Ganesh, Junior Consultant Pediatrician, was awarded the “Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) in Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology” by The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University on April 5th 2016.
Dr. N. Suresh, Junior Consultant Pediatrician, won the “V. RAJU AWARD” for the Research Paper titled “Role of Th1, Th2, Th17 Cytokines in the prediction of Post RSV Bronchiolitis Wheeze” at ICAAICON – 2015 under the auspices of Indian College of Allergy, Asthma and Applied Immunology, held from 28th – 31st Jan 2016 at Chennai.
POSTGRADUATES & FELLOWSDr. Rahul Gautam Kopikaar, final year Postdiploma DNB Postgraduate, won the Best Oral Paper presentation titled ‘Clinical profile of Pediatric Osteoarticular Infections’ at the National Conference of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (NCPID) 2016, held on 22nd October 2016 at Pune.

Dr. Dema Ravinder, final year DNB Pediatric Surgery Postgraduate, won the 1st prize for his paper presentation titled ‘Oesophageal dilatation for stenosis/stricture – Methods and Armamentarium’, at the Annual National Conference of the IAPSCON 2016, held on 30th September 2016 at Agra.
Dr. Vidhya, 4th year DNB Pediatric Surgery Postgraduate, won the 1st prize for her paper presentation titled ‘The Outcome of Extended Kasai Portoenterostomy in “Seniors” with Biliary Atresia’, at the Annual National Conference of the IAPSCON 2016, held on 30th September 2016 at Agra.
Dr. V. Raja Ramesh Kumar Kolla, final year post DCH, DNB Postgraduate won the 1st prize for his postered presentation titled ‘Changing Etiological spectrum of Chronic Diarrhea in Infancy’ at the 3rd National conference of ISPGHAN CON 2016 and 26th Annual conference of Pediatric Gastroenterology Chapter of Indian Academy of Pediatrics, held on 24th & 25th September 2016 at Kolkata.
Dr. Rajesh Boddula, 2nd year DNB Postgraduate won the 3rd prize for his poster presentation titled ‘Revisiting the Etiological spectrum of Chronic Liver Disease in India – Let us ask ourselves if Decompensated Liver Disease is medically salvaegable’ at the 3rd National conference of ISPGHAN CON 2016 and 26th Annual conference of Pediatric Gastroenterology Chapter of Indian Academy of Pediatrics, held on 24th & 25th September 2016 at Kolkata.
Dr. Supriya Gujjar, Fellow in Pediatric Hemato-Oncology was awarded the 2nd prize for poster on ‘Impact of a Cancer support group on Childhood Treatment and Abandonment in a private Pediatric Oncology Centre’, at the Mid-term Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Conference (PHOCON) in Hyderabad, June 2016.
Dr. Prathima, DNB Postgraduate, was awarded the first prize for her paper on ‘Errors in use and maintenance of MDI in children – an observational study’ at IAP Pulmonology Update on 3rd April 2016.
Dr. Varun and Dr. Rahul Kopikaar, Postdiploma DNB postgraduates, won the 3rd prize in Nephrology quiz organized at Mehta Children’s hospital as part of the World Kidney day celebration on 10th March 2016.

Karthick, Fellow in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, KKCTH, won the “Best Oral presentation Award” (Titled – Predicting Mortality in Pediatric Septic shock in the Emergency Room) at International Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Critical Care Conference, held from 24th – 27th April 2014 at Global Health City, Chennai.
Dr. K. Dhanalakshmi, Fellow in Pediatric Infectious Diseases: awarded the Gold Medal at the National Conference of Pediatric Diseases, held in Raipur for securing the first place in the IAP Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship examination in Sept. 2014.
Dr. C. Vaishnavi, Fellow in Pediatric Infectious Diseases, was awarded the 1st prize in the “Award Papers” section for her oral presentation on “Evaluation of Rapid Antigen Detection Test in the diagnosis of Streptococcal pharyngitis”, at the National Conference of Pediatric Disease at Raipur, 2014.

Dr. Padma Balaji & Dr. Venkateswari Ramesh, won the 1st Prize & cash award of Rs.10,000, for their presentation on “Calcifying Leukoencephalopathy – Lessons learnt” in Competitive Grand Rounds by Senior Residents 2013, organized by Indian Journal Pediatrics on 15/9/ 2013 at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Dr. A. Sumanth, Registrar in Pediatrics, won the 2nd prize for the Best Paper presentation on “Clinical and Microbiological profile of invasive pneumococcal disease in under five’s in the National Conference in Pediatric Infectious Diseases 2013, held in December 2013, at Vijayawada.
