Cancer Care
Childhood cancer
Our mission is to provide comprehensive unsurpassed care to children with catastrophic disease like cancer in an organized and evidence based practice setting. We treat all hematological malignancies leukemias; lymphomas, and Solid tumors like Neuroblastoma / wilms tumor / Germ cell tumors / Rhabdomyosarcomas, Bone tumors: Sarcomas and all types of Brain tumors like medulloblastoma / low grade glioma / germ cell tumors / ependymoma etc. All these taken care of by a team of multidisciplinary specialists in a dedicated oncology ward under asepsis by trained staff.
Why childhood cancer needs support?
Most childhood cancers can be cured with chemotherapy and other forms of treatment, including surgery and radiotherapy. In other words, the majority of children with cancer can be saved. Children are not small adults and they respond well to their tailored therapy. After completion of treatment, majority of children can live a regular life and relive their dreams.
Our previous commitment towards children with cancer:
The legacy of our founder to provide affordable health care to every child irrespective of economic status was the inspiration to treat children ailing from cancer and reaching our doorstep. Ever since the department was set 15 years ago, milestones have been achieved and hundreds of children are leading a normal life having cured of their cancer. More than 1000 children have been treated since then and reflects our vision to achieve cure rates of more than 80%. Not only children less than 18 years of age get treated for cancer at our institute but also adolescent and young adults since a great majority of adolescent and young adult patients with cancer will survive their cancer diagnosis and will constitute a sizable fraction of the community.
Most of the children taking treatment at our hospital are from the lower socio economic strata and are under priviledged / lower middle class. We have children from all over the state and others states too reaching out to us for help to get their little children treated.
Our funded projects for childhood cancer treatment:
The Pediatric Lymphoma project and the Pediatric Solid tumor projects between 2010 and 2017 by the benevolent donation of Shri Lakshminarayan and HDFC bank and SPIC medical foundation supported a more than children for their cancer treatment and we have a survival of 88%. The Ray of Light Foundation supports a few children with cancer. We also receive donations from many NGOs, Lions Club, philanthropists, several charitable foundations, individual donors to help us achieve our monumental goal.
Stories of impact:
“Curing a child with cancer saves a lifetime”
To remain hopeful during cancer treatment is as much an art as it is a skill. And, our little cancer patients and their families do show this on a regular basis. Our patients who study, dance, participate in sports, travel and the resilience they exhibit by drawing on their inner strengths and external supports makes them each a special kid and their journey through treatment of cancer is inspiring.
For A……., cancer is a dim memory.
A….. was just a month old when she was diagnosed with a tumor called Neuroblastoma. The little girl had hardly opened to eyes to see the world and all knew was her mother’s warmth. But unfortunately her abdomen swelled and she was in our neonatal unit for a tumor that caused her to breathe with difficulty. Her parents lost hope looking at the new little one. She needed chemotherapy which she and her parents accepted boldly. Going through treatment had never been easy for her parents. Sure enough, they fought the situation and endured the pain.
4 years after her treatment, today A… walks into the outpatient and speaks of her experiences of entering a school and her friends.
Yes, cancer is part of her story, but it is only a small part and has she has a beautiful life to look ahead for achievements.
M…… is back home in their native village down south Tamilnadu, with his brother and younger sister after receiving treatment for his cancer at our hospital. A year back they reached our doorstep with loss of hope and broken-heartedness on hearing the word cancer.
M….. was diagnosed with Burkitts lymphoma, a cancer in children which is highly curable with treatment at the appropriate time. At our hospital, he received chemotherapy for 1 year. One cannot miss his talks in the oncology ward which was inspiring and friendly to all those around. Now after successfully completing his therapy, he returned home and returns to us for regular checkups.
How can you help us?
You can donate to help children get cured of their cancer.
By adopting a child completely for the entire treatment
By partial adoption of children to support a few children with chemotherapy treatment.
When you support us, you can help us to give hope for kids with cancer, like A… and M…..
Together, we can save more lives.
Every small donation helps, and we appreciate your continued support of The CHILDS Trust Hospital in the fight against childhood cancer. Your help supports our mission.
Please donate any amount and help change the world for kids with cancer. Please go to the donation webpage (link) for type of donation, frequency of donation, international or domestic funding etc.
NICU Care
Save Tiny Lives: Every Contribution Makes a Difference
Dear Supporters,
The Miracle of Neonatal Care
Each year, millions of newborns are born premature or critically ill, requiring specialized medical intervention to survive. Prematurity—the leading cause of death in newborns—brings with it a host of complications, including respiratory distress, underdeveloped organs, and life-threatening infections. These tiny fighters, some weighing less than a kilogram at birth, rely on the life-saving support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to survive. The first few weeks of life are the most crucial for these tiny warriors. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides a fighting chance to these fragile lives through cutting-edge technology, advanced medical expertise, and compassionate care.
From respiratory distress to sepsis, extreme prematurity, congenital anomalies, and life-threatening infections, these babies face numerous challenges. The NICU is their battleground, and every moment counts. However, behind every success story lies a tremendous effort, and often, an unbearable financial burden for families.
Your support can ensure that no baby is denied the opportunity to survive and thrive.
How is your help vital to us?
Caring for neonates in critical condition involves a combination of specialized equipment, highly trained medical staff, and consistent supportive care. However, many families struggle to afford these life-saving treatments. Here’s how your donations can make a difference:
Advanced Medical Equipment:
The NICU relies on tools such as ventilators, high-frequency oscillators, phototherapy units, incubators, and continuous monitoring systems. These devices, along with consumables like sterile catheters and feeding tubes, are vital for sustaining life but come at a significant cost.
Cost of Intensive Care:
The expense of NICU care can range between ₹1-2 lakhs per week depending on the severity of the condition. Families from underserved communities often cannot afford this care, leading to devastating outcomes for newborns.
Holistic Support for Families:
In addition to medical care, families need emotional support to navigate this difficult journey and provide the best for their babies after discharge. Support for lactating mothers, mental health counselling for parents, and education on post-discharge care are integral to ensuring the best outcomes for the baby and the family.
Emergency Surgeries and Lifesaving Therapies:
Many newborns require emergency surgical interventions for conditions such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia, intestinal perforation, or heart defects. The high costs of such procedures can become an insurmountable barrier for families.
How Can you Make a Difference?
Your generous donations will directly support:
- State-of-the-Art Equipment: Help us purchase and maintain critical devices like ventilators, advanced monitors, and CPAP machines that are essential for saving lives.
- Medications and Consumables: Provide life-saving medications such as surfactants for premature lungs, antibiotics to combat sepsis, and parenteral nutrition for babies unable to feed.
- Neonatal Surgeries: Support families with the cost of complex surgical procedures that can give newborns a second chance at life.
No donation is too small. Every rupee brings hope to families and gives these newborns the chance to experience a brighter tomorrow.
Together, We Can Make a Difference
Your contributions have the power to turn despair into hope for countless families. By supporting them, you become a part of these tiny warriors’ journeys—from their first breath to their first steps.
Your generosity will ensure that no family feels alone in their struggle to save their child. Together, we can build a world where every newborn has the opportunity to survive, thrive, and lead a healthy life.
BMT
Help Children with Primary Immunodeficiency
Dear Supporters,
About Primary Immunodeficiency:
Children born with primary immunodeficiency have immune systems that do not function properly. As a result, they are vulnerable to life-threatening infections. Early diagnosis and appropriate medical care to control infections are crucial in managing these children.
Why We Need Your Help:
Medical Treatment:Children with primary immunodeficiency require regular IV immunoglobulin replacement therapy to protect against infections, antibiotics, and other medications to prevent and treat infections. They may require prolonged intensive care support in case of life threatening infections.
Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT):Bone Marrow Transplant is the only curative option for these children. After the transplant these children start to make fully functional white blood cells that function as a normal immune system and are capable of fighting infection. A bone marrow transplant offers the possibility of a cure. However, each transplant can cost between ₹20-25lakhs, depending on the clinical state and donor match, making it inaccessible for many families.
Support Services:Providing comprehensive care involves not just medical treatment, but also psychological support, nutritional counselling, and educational resources for patients and their families.
How You Can Make a Difference: Your generous donations will support:
Medical Treatments: Covering the costs of IV immunoglobulins, essential medications and therapies that help manage primary immunodeficiency conditions.
Bone Marrow Transplants: Assisting families with the substantial costs of BMT procedures would help them to undergo lifesaving BMT.
Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant impact on the lives of children with PI. Together, we can make a impact on the lives of children battling primary immunodeficiency. Your support and generosity can bring hope, relief, and a healthier future to these children.

Dear Supporters,
About Thalassemia Major
Thalassemia Major, is a blood disorder, affects thousands of children every year in our country. Thalassemia is a genetic disorder where the body cannot produce enough hemoglobin. This leads to severe anemia, requiring regular blood transfusions and chelation therapy to remove excess iron from the body. They are prone for complications such as organ damage, heart failure, delayed growth and puberty. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is the only curative option available for these children.
Why We Need Your Help:
Medical Treatment: Regular blood transfusions and chelation therapy costs about Rs.1,50,000 /child for 1 year. Many families struggle to afford these monthly treatments, facing significant financial stress.

Support Services: Counselling, nutritional support, and educational assistance are crucial for improving the quality of life for patients and their families
How You Can Make a Difference:
Your generous donations will directly support:
Blood Transfusion Services: Ensuring a steady supply of safe, screened blood for transfusions.
Medical Supplies: Providing essential medications and chelation agents to manage iron overload.

Dear Supporters,
About Type 1 Diabetes
