Department of Medical Genetics:

• This Department offers comprehensive diagnostic services as well as counseling and management for patients with genetic disorders and congenital anomalies.
• Clinical Genetics is a consultation service offered to all patients with genetic disorders or birth defects.
• Genetic counseling is provided to the patients and their families educating them about the implications of their test results, the nature of the disorder and options for management.
• We have a team of experienced Geneticists from the Fetal Care Research Foundation (Mediscan) who provide consultation once a week, for both outpatient and inpatients requiring Genetic counseling and evaluation. We have facilities to diagnose and treat both neonates and children with Inborn errors of metabolism as well as rare genetic disorders. Our team of Geneticists provides specific diet and therapy for children with inborn errors of metabolism. We have facilities to perform various genetic tests like Karyotyping, chromosomal microarray, clinical exome, whole exome and whole genome sequencing.
