1. Moments with Dr. Usha that touched us deeply
It’s rare to see a Head of Obstetrics, an erstwhile HOD at Ramachandra, stand up to personally greet an elderly, ailing mother—and then gently pull me aside to ask if she had eaten before the visit.
I will never forget the reassuring hand on my shoulder before my spinal injection, or the way she held my hand and told me to be brave when the reality of labor finally hit me late in my third trimester.
And even at discharge, she spent over 20 minutes just talking to us—about maternity wear, newborn care, and how medical practice has evolved over the years. Profoundly human gestures.
2. Dr. Usha’s medical mastery
Throughout my pregnancy, she never prescribed unnecessary tests or medications. Her clinical mastery spared me from unnecessary pain and kept my baby out of harm’s way. I felt safe placing my trust in her judgment at every step.
3. Kalai Sister
The person we interacted with the most. Always friendly, approachable, and available. Knowing she was there made the entire journey feel less overwhelming. She is a fountain of information and knows the hospital inside out—exactly whom to contact, how each test works, and the small details that make a big difference when you’re anxious and vulnerable.
4. Shenbagam Sister
This remarkable woman, in her own second trimester, spent nights with our baby—teaching us how to nurse, feed, and care for a newborn. She made sure I got enough rest to support milk production, helped clean me up when I was bleeding, and even fixed the bedsheets without a hint of inconvenience.
Her nursing knowledge was exceptional—explaining how painkillers help early mobility after a C-section, how hydration prevents post-IV headaches, and so much more.
5. Ruby
Friendly, warm, and genuinely caring—Ruby always made it a point to stop by and check in on us, even after the baby was born. What stood out to us was how much the entire nursing team respects her.
7. Dr. Varshini
The night-duty doctor who stayed well beyond her shift and was the first to tell me that my baby and I were doing well. I will never forget her cheerful face, the big smile, and the two thumbs up when she told me I had “won the bet” and had a daughter.

NICU - My twin babies were preterm born have to keep in NICU monitoring thanks to Dr CHANDRA KUMAR and NICU TEAM for the huge support during initial days they were more transparent and updating the baby status every hour and the nurses were taking care of baby very well. Dr. Thirunavukkarasu is an exceptional doctor! My child recently underwent adenoidectomy surgery under his care, and I was thoroughly impressed with his expertise, kindness, and dedication.

Visited the hospital when as a recommendation from more than 5 doctors in Chennai. My daughter fell very sick, and there was no confirmed diagnosis but scary symptoms. She was taken into emergency and the doctors were diligent and proactive in all areas. The nursing staff is firm yet tactful with children. They were very friendly and put me at ease very quickly.
Their treatment worked and my daughter recovered very quickly. But the doctors made sure she was only discharged when they were comfortable that she would recover at home. It is very clean, and good food in the canteen for caregivers and patients. If you are ever in the unfortunate situation of needing medical help for children, I recommend Dr Janani and her team for the diagnosis as well as the hospital and staff for the care.

We had a hysterectomy surgery for my mom at Kanchipuram Kamakoti child trust hospital. We were blessed to find the right doctor Dr. Usha Natarajan mam who did a through diagnosis with no hurry and patiently and clearly explained the diagnosis and the treatment procedure with us. The surgery was successful and the most unexpected delight for us was the nursing support provided. All the nurses who treated my mom took care of her like her own daughter and from my heart I would say that this the best nursing support I have experienced over the many years of other hospitalisation our family had. I would highly recommend the hospital and the wonderful Dr. Usha mam for all gynaecology treatments.

My child was born with a congenital issue in his heart called “Ventricular Septal Defect.” Our pediatrician identified the issue when he was 2 months old and advised us to consult a pediatric cardiologist. We visited several hospitals (Apollo, etc.), but most seemed primarily interested in money and suggested immediate surgery.

Fortunately, in the end, we went to the “Kanchi Kamakoti Child Trust Hospital-Chennai” and consulted Dr. Gnanasambandam Sir. After his analysis, he confirmed that open-heart surgery is necessary and needs to be done between the age of 3 to 6 months old of child to avoid complications. Dr.  Gnanasambandam Sir clearly explained our baby's condition and gave us confidence about the surgery and the procedure.

Following the doctor's advice, we decided to go ahead with the surgery in the 5th month of our baby and confirmed the dates with the surgeons.

Before sending my child to the operating theatre, we had mixed emotions. On one hand, we were thinking that his difficulties would end after the surgery; on the other, we were scaring about how the surgery would go for our 4-month-old baby. After 2 hours and 35 minutes, Dr. Prashanth Shah Sir came out from the OT and told us that, now onwards your child is like a normal child. During the surgery time, I cannot even express how tense we were.

Thankfully, the surgery went very smoothly, and my child was safe. I cannot express enough gratitude to Dr. Prashanth Shah sir and his surgical team. Please forgive me if I missed mentioning any doctors' names.

My 13-year-old daughter suffered from Paraoverian Cyst. Since my daughter is still a child, we were concerned about her laparoscopy procedure, but Dr. Priya Ramachandran handled everything smoothly and she is now doing well.

Child Trust Hospital needs no review as it is easily the most trusted and popular hospital for kids in Chennai. It is very professionally managed but not at high cost when compared to private hospital. I was referred to this hospital by Dr. S. Balasubramanian (Senior Pediatrician) twice. First time five years back when my daughter had Tonsilitis, Dr. Balakumar (Senior ENT surgeon) performed Tonsillectomy operation and was discharged same day. Second time this year, when my daughter had Kawasaki disease (which was rare disease), Dr. S. Balasubramanian treated her and she has recovered fully. The diagnosis and treatment was timely as it was hard to detect and not common. Dr. SBS and the duty doctors were excellent ensuring round the clock monitoring and quick change in course as required. Nurses were also very friendly and professional in their handling. Regarding the hospital infrastructure, it is situated in Nungambakkam in a little congested road. The building is bit old but maintained well with continuous cleaning. There are shared rooms to single to deluxe rooms. The rooms are very comfortable and well maintained, though I would set your expectation to not compare with 5 star private hospitals. There is parking constraint for 4 wheelers opposite to the hospital and they have added a parking place but is like 0.5 KM away. The hospital also has medical research foundation with courses for Medical post graduated specialising in Pediatric specialisations which has produced generations of pediatricians from this hospital. With leading specialists, friendly staff, facilities like Neonatal ICUs, labs, vaccination, 24 hour pharmacy and insurance desk, the hospital provides specialised child care in single roof. I thank the hospital doctors, nurses and the administration for your yeomen service and highly recommend it.

Met Dr. Mahesh, Neurologist here. He was calm and kind and patient to answer all questions we had and gave us good hope about recovery. Many doctors we know also endorsed him as a great doctor when it comes to child neurology.

I contacted the reception of this hospital over the phone to book an appointment with a Gastro specialist and explained my child's condition. They suggested 4 doctors and I got an appointment with Dr. Srinivas. His team gathered all the information and details about my child's problems before the doctor's arrival. When the doctor arrived, he conducted an examination and recommended some basic tests. After the test results came in, he prescribed only 2 medicines. Within two days, my child's 6-month vomiting problem was resolved. I am grateful to Dr. Srinivas and the hospital for their services.

Dr. Vijayakumar, Pulmonologist was very kind and treated my daughter with her wheezing. We are From different city and her wheeze was not diagnosed properly by local doctors. So we visited KKCTH and Dr. Vijayakumar sir finally diagnosed and gave the proper medication and her wheeze got controlled within 2-3 days after her struggling for weeks. He gave us good medicine not more or less. Answered all my doubts. It was a whole positive experience. Thanks to sir, my kid is feeling so much better now (Touchwood) 😊

Biliary atresia was diagnosed by Dr. Priya ramachandran for my 2 month old baby. Its very hard to accept for us because Priya mam explained everything to us, but at last they suggest to do open Kasai procedure. Finally, we have done the Kasai and liver damage level also very low.  I am Lubna Anjum from Chennai. I had delivered twin boys, The second twin had some complications like vomiting, pale stool and jaundice. We approached Dr. Priya of child trust hospital. She ordered a few tests, issue had been identified very quickly as Biliary Artesia and advised surgery (KASAI) had to be performed connecting the liver and intestine bypassing the Gall bladder. At first it was a disaster for us because my baby was just 60 days old. But Dr. Priya gave us the confidence and performed the surgery in a very professional manner.
